Paperless With Document Manager
Document Manager
is an electronic document library that gives you the potential
to save time and provide better service to your clients.
Scan Documents Document
Manager uses any TWAIN-compliant scanner to create document
images. With a multi-sheet scanner you can store a stack of
COC forms in seconds and have immediate, easy access whenever
you need the images in the future.
Store Any File Document
Manager can be used to store any kind of computer file and
link it to data in DrugPak. Archive documents like Word, Excel
and Acrobat. Images such as JPG, BMP, TIF, and multimedia like
WAV, AVI, WMV. Any file on your computer that you want to
store and link to a DrugPak result, participant, company,
collection site, or laboratory record!
Find It In a Flash Once
an item has been brought into Document Manager you can create
key references that allow you to manage and search your
documents in a variety of customizable ways. Access documents
linked to DrugPak records using the camera button in the
DrugPak Tool Bar or search Document Manager using customizable
keywords and filters.
One of the primary uses of Document Manager
is to scan chain of custody forms. When used in conjunction
with MRO Management it can be used to insert information such
as COC Received Date, Participant Name, and other essential
information.
Document Manager lightens your workload in
other ways as well. For example, your customers can have
access to documents at any time-- even after normal business
hours--through the Internet using DP Live. The latest v5.5
release of DP Live supports this feature.
Document Manager can be used for much more
than just COC forms. You can store any document that you might
want to access in the future such as invoices, MRO notes,
telephone recordings, notices, correspondence, maps--
anything!

Take Advantage of New
Features!
DrugPak
programmers are hard at work implementing your
suggestions. Here are some highlights of recent
features added to DrugPak:
- The Generate Reports window now displays a
category in bold text if any report in that category
is selected.
- Reports in a contact window only displays a
generation cutoff date for reports that are
time-sensitive, (i.e. result letters, random selection
audit trail reports, etc.).
- Assign a specific date as the "Invoice Date",
(where previously it was assumed to be today's
date).
- Moved the option to show zero-amount line items
from the invoice report options, (found in the Contact
window, Reports tab) to the Billee window for easier
access.

What are Billing Profiles and Test
Price Schedules?
The release of version 6 of DP
Billing offers more options to how you structure your
prices. It is now easier to establish multiple
standards and create exceptions to these standards.
A standard price structure in DP
Billing can be established with a billing
profile. A billing profile defines a number
of parameters including the basic price, the display of
line-items, billing rules, collection and laboratory
fees, discounts and administrative fees. The
billing profile can easily be assigned when creating a
new company. With this structure you can define a
set of billing profiles that describe your standards,
either a single standard or categories such as "silver,
gold, platinum" or "basic, preferred", etc.
Once a billing profile has been assigned to the
billee then you have more options. You can assign
additional billing rules and/or test price
schedules to the billee or the company (or the home
base). This makes it possible to use the basic
parameters established in the billing profile, but
change specific aspects for the one company in
question.
For example, consider a TPA where the clients are
divided into two categories; high and low volume.
A billing profile describes the prices for each of
these, such as low-volume clients get a "bundled" rate
for each test and high-volume clients have the
collection site fee broken out from the test fee, which
varies depending on which site is used. Now,
consider that your sales person is negotiating with an
attractive prospect and promises them a lower price than
your high-volume billing profile. When the deal is
made and you are setting that company up in DrugPak,
assign then the high-volume billing profile, but then
create a new test price schedule with the lower
price.
Let's add another situation to that example.
Consider that a prospective client has two locations and
each deserves a different price. In that case, you
would create the new company and assign it the
appropriate billing profile, but then, when creating the
home bases that represent the two locations, you can
assign different test price schedules to either or both
of the home bases.
*NOTE* When assigning a test
price schedule to a billee, a company or a home base,
only the prices in that test price schedule will be
applied! This means that if you set special prices
for random selection and for pre-employment but do not
set a "standard", if there is a different test type
(such as post-accident) DP Billing will
not use the price from the
billing profile.

Windows XP
Service Pack 3 tests OK with
DrugPak
DrugPak does not make any recommendation
to upgrade to Win XP SP3 because SP2 works
fine with DrugPak. There may be other issues or
concerns for your computer in regard to SP3, so it is
recommended that you investigate any other possible
conflicts before installing
SP3. | |
