Introduction -------------------------------------------------------- This text is stored in a file called UPDATE.TXT. It will be installed into the program directory, so you can read or print it at your convenience. These release notes are provided to help you learn about changes to the software which have occurred too late to include in the on-line manual and help systems. Enhancements -------------------------------------------------------- SPEED IMPROVED The generation process should run faster now. Previously, records were being isolated with the combination of a filter and an indexed date range. However, sorting the filtered records was time consuming. Now the filter itself incorporates the date range conditions, and the database is examined in "natural order" (no active index), resulting in a highly optimized filter. MULTIPLE RECIPIENTS FOR THE SAME COMPANY It is now possible to enter multiple "Company Preferences" records for the same location (company or home base). Simply click the [+] button on the navigator bar to insert a new record. Respond to the prompts to select the desired location. You will be warned if the desired location has already been set-up, and you will have the choice to enter a new record for that location, or to view the existing record. This is very useful if your client would like to receive several different types of reports. Previously a recipient could receive only ONE report format by email, and ONE report format by fax. Also, it was not possible to send the same report to two different fax numbers. This enhancement solves that issue. -------------------------------------------------------- 4. Fixes -------------------------------------------------------- The following fixes resolved some issues introduced in DP Informer v5.0. LOOKUP WINDOWS Lookup windows would not remember field positions and sizes after shutting down the application. COMPANY PREFERENCES Hyphen key was not working anywhere in the Company Preferences or Task List windows. This has been fixed. EMAIL SERVER LOGIN PASSWORDS SMTP Passwords are now supported in the Communication Settings dialog.... Previously users needed to call tech support to make changes in DPI32.INI. PACK AND INDEX Packing and indexing would cause the program to disappear, yet remain running. This has been fixed. ADD FILTER BUTTON The Add Filter button in the Find window was non- functional. This has been fixed. -------------------------------------------------------- 5. See the "Enhancements" section, above for an overview of what is different in the new software. Post-CD Fixes & Enhancements -------------------------------------------------------- 1. DP Informer will now use the standard DrugPak Result Letter report. Previously, DP Informer used a special version of the Result Letter report, due to prior data structure differences. Since this is no longer necessary, DP Informer has been modified to use the standard Result Letter report. If you have a custom Result Letter report, then Informer will use that report. 2. Previously, all Informer reports were stored in a special folder (REPORT_I) because of file-name conflicts with some standard DrugPak reports. Now all of the standard Informer reports have been renamed to avoid this conflict, and they have been moved into the standard REPORTS folder. 3. The REPORT_I folder is now used exclusively to store custom reports for use with Informer. Any such reports should NOT have any of the following names: RESHORT.RPT RESHORT0.RPT RESDATA.RPT DATASHRT.RPT I_RES0.RPT I_RES1.RPT I_DATA0.RPT I_DATA1.RPT RESLTTR.RPT 4. Company Preferences Dialog: Some of the interface labels on the Company Preferences window have been re-labeled to be clearer. A) "List Export Format" has been renamed "File Type". This corresponds to the various file types "PDF", etc. B) "Result List Report" has been renamed "Report Style" The accompanying data-entry field now provides a drop-down list of descriptive styles (e.g. "One-Line List", "Letter Format", etc.) 5. Database upgrade to level 56, to support new reporting file name and folder structure. A) Level 55: Reports in the \report_I\custom folder are moved down into the report_I folder. Some reports (RESHORT.RPT, RESHORT0.RPT, RESDATA.RPT, DATASHRT.RPT) will be renamed with a leading underscore character. The database will be updated to reflect this name change. B) Level 56: References to the standard report names are changed (to reflect the fact that these standard reports have been changed). A minor bug was fixed in the behavior of the Find dialog in Company Preferences. When two records had the same Company ID and Home Base, the Find window would only find the first instance. This has been fixed, and it now uses the (relatively) new REC_ID field to locate the record. v 5.2.30717 -------------------------------------------------------- 1. Restored the Find button in the Task List dialog. 2. MRO NAME and VERIFICATION DATE are no longer required to send Alcohol results. v 5.2.30828 -------------------------------------------------------- 1. Re-versionized from 5.3 beta down to 5.2. The true version 5.3 will have major database changes not included in this version. v 5.2.31009 -------------------------------------------------------- 1. dBASE Export format was not working. This has been fixed. 2. It was not possible to preview the dBASE file in the task list. This has been fixed. v 5.2.31009a -------------------------------------------------------- 1. Programs were not modified, but the reports were updated to solve problems with the I_RES* and I_DATA* reports.
